Fun times

Wow! It has been awhile since I've been able to post, but we have had many new and exciting things going on! First of all, I have landed a job as a Kindergarten teacher!!! I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my life, while it will be sad to have to put Sophia in day-care full time, it will be for the best. I have been thinking about various things to do within my classroom and different classroom themes all I can say is "Thank you Pinterest!" I love the many creative ideas that I have come across and can't wait to begin implementing them with my kiddos!!!

SOPHIA UPDATE!!!!
We had Sophia's 4 month appointment on Monday and she is doing great! Here are her stats:
Weight 14lbs 9oz. (not a little peanut anymore! She is now in the 76th percentile
Height 25" (she is going to be tall like her mama!) and in the 55th percentile

She loves playing with her soft sensory blocks, especially the crinkle one! She especially enjoys eating them too! She also loves listening and dancing with daddy, especially the hokey-pokey! She giggles when they sing and dance to that one! ADORABLE!!! Still sleeping through the night like a champ, but enjoys snuggling with her animal blankets.

NEWS FLASH!
Sophia can roll over! From her back to her tummy and back to her back! Can't keep that girl on a blanket anymore!

Things that Sophia does not like: loud noises such as doors opening and closing and the dog barking.

We got Sophia baptized this past Sunday and she did great! She was such a doll in her outfit!!!

This week I finished a project that I have been itching to do for Sophia, her bow holder! And I do have to say that I love how it turned out!

Well that's all for now! Have a great day!!!

A squealing good time!

Sophia has learned to squeal! She does it all the time now, but needless to say when I try to get a video of it she tends to quiet down really quickly (little stinker!) It is pretty cute, especially now that she decides to squeal in the morning when it's time to get up rather than cry, man those squeals are loud over the baby monitor!

This week has been a busy week for us, I started teaching summer school again within another district and have a variety of kiddos in each of my classes. In one class in particular I have a little one who I like to think of as being very enthusiastic! Well he just made my day when he walked into class and got so excited to see the markers and then was even more excited when I told him we were going to get to use those markers! The look on his face was priceless, he was so happy and thrilled to be able to use markers! What a cutie!

On a side note, we were in church the other morning and it came time to pray. Everyone was silent, you could have heard a pin drop, but instead of hearing a pin drop what did we hear? That's right, Sophia decided it was a good time to let one out, she pooped! Not once, but twice! Everyone around heard it loud and clear, and Ben and I had to do all we could to not burst out laughing! Oh the joys of parenthood!

This upcoming week we don't have to much planned, Sophia's cousin has his first birthday party on Friday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY J!!!!! Then we have her baptism on Sunday, hopefully she cooperates with all that is going on! It will be a busy weekend that is for sure!

What is that?

Sophia has officially discovered her feet and tongue! She loves sticking her tongue in and out of her mouth as well as blowing bubbles with her mouth. She also enjoys playing with her legs and feet, constantly grabbing them and holding her legs trying to pull them up to her face! I love when I go in in the mornings and hear her talking away and playing, hey it's better than her crying when she wakes up.

Sophia's 3 month stats:
She weighs 13lbs. and eats 6-8 oz. roughly every 3-4 hours! WOW! That's alot!

She loves watching Casey run through the house, the mirror, and daddy!

She has grown fond of eat her hands and now playing with her tongue, but gets frustrated when her nuk is in her mouth and she wants to play with her tongue at the same time, I know...so confusing!

She hates burping (poor thing!) and being wet or stinky (don't we all?)

This week I have also finished one of my many projects that I have been wanting to do, thank you pinterest! I have finished my "moo cow" hat, not bad for my first attempt at crocheting! Next time I think I will attempt to make a monkey hat, but time will tell.

This is how I roll...

Sophia is almost rolling over! She has managed to get on to her side very easily now, but still needs a little more "umpf" to get on to her belly, but it will be soon! She also quiet the silly little girl and LOVES chewing on her dresses and showing off her belly button, often times full of smiles when we pull the dress out of her hands. She also loves telling us stories about the many things that she does throughout her day, my she is a little chatter box (just like her daddy!).

This week we will be going to our first neighborhood block party, which I am actually looking forward to and Ben of course is being dragged along! But today I will be making 4th of July cupcakes for the party so hopefully they turn out like I plan in my head. This will be the first block party that our neighborhood will be holding and it sure sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun for both adults and children with watermelon eating contests, water balloon cannons, bon-fires, and mini golfing set-up in various driveways. I don't think that we will see any fireworks this year due to the dryness and the heat, but that's ok there is always next year when we can enjoy them as a family.
